Spring 2008 Update As always, we are keeping very busy and have just completed several great projects. A few highlights include:
Using the Windows 2003 R2 Server platform, we replaced an older Domain Controller (Windows 2000) running Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge database. First, we integrated the new Server as Active Directory Member Server. The next step was to upgrade the database application and make it run on MSSQL 2005 Standard SP2. Once that was running fine, we upgraded the database application clients and checked that all imported information was there as expected. Next, we installed ISA 2006, replacing a Cisco Pix 515e that wasn't working so well anymore (it's still there but only as failover). Finally, we installed and configured Sharepoint Server 2007 and Live Communications Server (Instant Messaging) 2005 Standard. We then demoted the old Windows 2000 DC to Member Server, and raised the AD forest and domain functional levels to Windows 2003. To top it off, we also installed a new HP Procurve Gigabit WAN switch to ensure 99.9% uptime. De Marillac Academy
