Client: Dr. Karimi and Dr. Ramirez, DDS Duo, San Francisco, 2009 Problem: The network databases, including Patient Base, were shared from an old XP workstation that was running out of space, the network was set peer-to-peer and it was *crawling*. Solution: We installed a brand new Windows 2008 Server (32-bit) with PatientBase, SoftDent & Dexis software, installed client workstations and laptops, connected them to the server database installations on the network for collaboration, and upgraded the local area network from peer-to-peer to a fully managed installation with local DNS, and wireless networking 802.11n. Data sharing (including electronic scans, patient records, scheduling etc.) is very fast, easy, and reliable. ************************************** Client: Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, Bethesda MD, 2008 Problem: The LAN was setup as a flat network with static IP addresses for client computers, and had no segmentation whatsoever, and IP accounting was a mess... Solution: WEBDBS configured ProCurve MDF and IDFs over a large campus with five different floors and multiple buildings. Mapping of the LAN had been done previously (thankfully) so we segmented the network into an Operations VLAN, an Administration VLAN, and a Faculty/Student VLAN (including wireless APs). Once the MDF, IDFs, and various switches were configured correctly for specific ports and drops according to the deparments these offices belonged to, we finally enabled DHCP on the Windows 2003 Server with the IP Helper of the SonicWall Pro firewall. Result: Students bringing their laptop on campus could just turn on their machine and join the WLAN without the previous headaches of having to switch to a static IP for the school environment. ****************************************** Client: De Marillac Academy, San Francisco CA, 2007 Problem: More and more staff were asking to be able to work remotely, having access to email and internal resources from remote locations. Solution: WEBDBS purchased, installed and configured a Sonicwall SSL VPN appliance, enabling access to the LAN from any place over SSL with no additional client configuration that fat VPN configurations usually require. Result: Whether it's working on Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge, accessing Exchange, shared network files, or PowerTeacher (Java-based gradebook) securely, everyone can now login remotely from their work computer from any place, and also have access to internal resources via an intuitive web portal should they be using a personal computer. ****************************************** We are also expert with the following technologies: Enterprise Networks : Our teams provide network management strategies, platform architecture, software implementation, physical design, and operating procedure development. We support Cisco and Sonic Wall networking equipment. Virtual Private Network (VPN): We deliver the critical security VPN solutions that make the Internet a safe and valuable business tool, delivering advanced, intelligent network services required for mission-critical enterprise networks. To make this possible, we usually choose between Microsoft VPN Server, OS X VPN Server, OpenSwan or OpenVPN on Linux, Cisco and Sonic Wall products. Secure Wireless LANs (WLAN): Our WLAN solutions can extend your corporation's network boundary and provide mobility to users both in-plant and external across a variety of platforms (PDAs/Tablets/Laptops, etc.), allowing users to access their critical applications when and where they need to, with the option to encrypt and tunnel all wireless traffic to make sure your wireless data remains private and secure, including the use of digital certificates with RADIUS. We do not support or install 802.11 b/g networks, only 802.11a/n over 5.0GHz.
